Bob "Krebe" Kriebel on Steel beach somewhere near the equator, 1983.

We were so bored that we had a kite building and flying contest. This is Jeff Costa with the best of show entry, the 128 ZZZ bra.

Bridge of the David R. Ray, DD-971. To the right is the then CO, CDR Larry "Subquest" Seaquist who later went on to command the battleship Iowa. My favorite Capt. Seaquest quote from the 1MC: "Well gents, I have some bad news - we have to head back to port."

Taking my first ride in the ASW helo off the DR Ray - the anti-submarine helo det guys took me to 10,000' and autorotated the blades in a 4000 ft drop to see if I'd puke. I passed the initiation.

Too bad the helo det guy who took this one couldn't hold still.

My James Dean shot of Krebe during a "bugs in your face" motorcycle ride around Mt. Rainier.

Maybe shagging wasn't the right verb in this case...

Ah 19y/o youth!  BBQ at Naval Security Group Activity, Great Dismal Swamp, straddling the VA/NC border.

Boys on Waikiki: Steven Bunch, Mark Jordan and Pat "Stick" Stickler.

Middies taking up space and air pulling into Portland, OR for the 75th annual Rose Festival.

Then again, this middie did have a very nice butt (though her nails were too long for regs)

5" .54 off San Clemente Island

David R Ray, goofing off in battle dress with the old Mark V "smushyurnose" gas mask during a GQ drill.

Bob Kriebel in some bar in Pattaya Beach, Thailand. I had a roll of film of the boys getting wild on stage, but alas it was lost.

Crappy wide-angle of kites on the fantail of David R. Ray

Downtown Olongapo, Philippines.

The famous Blow Me II (too) kite.

While I was up in the anti-sub helo the boys decided mooning was in order

Pulling into Portland in '84, this was a floating advert for a stip club the Stone Pony.  I think they got some business from us....

An accidental double exposure whilst in the Philippine back country.

Russian intelligence ship from when their navy could still sail....

Rural Pilipino second car

Osmosis, the only way to learn LEO satellite navigation. This was my roommate in 1982 before I went to the Ray, don't recall his name.

Ah, Jenny Jenny - where are you now? For the week the Ray was in Hong Kong I had an almost sexual fling with this Royal Marines wife. Guy even got me drunk too - what hosts!

Me and Crape Dirk having quite a few on his ship, the Belgian Frigate "Zinnia" in Jebel Ali or Al Fujira, UAE. Every berthing was a pub - got to love it.

The last battle group I rode with in '97.

Acadia. I think this guy won the beauty contest. For crossing the line going is drag was easy on a ship with 40% women....

From the Constellation days, just a few missiles amid bb stackers.

Acadia. This was just before the kid pulled off my belt. Um, let's see that was Carol Gossen and Karen (Vermillion) Wells.

On the"Mike" boat liberty boat back to the Ray from Pusan
