Puck and Kharpern - Tail of Two Sisters

In October 2003 I was at Tim and Molly Keer's house checking out their latest (unplanned) litter. The kittens were living in their backyard, under the house and when the back door would slide open, all the kittens save these two would scatter; the sisters would hang out, look and check out what was going on.  I liked them immediately. Since I'd sent our original cat Kleinschiesse to catnip heaven a few months prior, I was looking for a replacement, but didn't want to break up the pair.  Dey was dadopted.

Took us a while to figure out names for them, but Pam came up with Kharpern (aka 'Pern) from the Ghadi's Tail books, and we both agreed on Puck for the larger, impish and impulsive of the sisters. Puck and Pern. Pern is the ultimate training cat - let anyone not comfy with cats meet her and they will change their mind. Sean would pick her up hard around the ribs, she'd let out a tiny protest - no claws, no bites just a gentle "Hey, uh, you're squishing mwee."

Not so glam pose.

In the El Cajon house. Tails of two sisters.

Pern's way of getting you out of her chair.

I love the way their unretouched reflections came out.

Pern and the skwooshed Puck are show here near/under Baxter, the 28 lb. fraidy, 1/8 bobcat feline were lucky enough to adopt out. I was pleasantly surprised when 7 people responded to my ad for the adoption of one reclusive, lovemuffin tank of a cat.

 Nice color but blurry.

Give me that buttered toast NOW.

Anybody we know?
